Sea Kayaker Magazine

The cover is almost looking like the regular April 2010 issue (left) - but it’s a real treasure, available on my talks and exhibitions already since my US East Coast Tour – the Sea Kayaker Magazine Special Collector’s Edition (right)!

Another “First”, not only for Sea Kayaker! Quite an honor – Thanks to SK Mag!

Who hasn’t got a chance to meet me on my tours, but still likes to own that Special Collector’s issue – just drop me a line for a handsigned copy! I’m happy to send you one. Also available for the US at Sea Kayaker Magazine online shop – but sorry I haven’t signed them all there…

I’m proud to announce “Sea Kayaker Magazine” will cover my “Race around Australia” expedition within eight upcoming issues.

A big thanks to the editor Chris Cunningham and  publisher Joan and Michael Collins to support my trip in this way!

The first installment January/ February 2009 will cover my trip preparations.

The following six bimonthly issues will cover each stage of the trip.

It will be ending up with a summary of my trip in the issue March/ April 2010.

For the six  issues “on the road” I’ll contact editor Chris Cunningham frequently via Skype, (cell)-phone or satellite phone, and will provide some voice-recorded tapes or rough written notes. Plus some pictures which won’t appear on my blog until published in Sea Kayaker magazine.

He’ll do the final write-up by himself to maintain shortest possible times from the adventure to the printed issue!

I’ll post my daily prgress on my blog, but he’ll be able to dive much deeper into the excitement of the trip progress due to naturally more writing skills and -time.

So folks, please stay tuned on Sea Kayaker Magazine!

My first appearance in Sea Kayaker Magazine, issue Nov/ Dec 2005.

 The writing said:

“Freya Hoffmeister of Husum, Germany, is an accomplished paddler in recreational touring, open water racing and Greenlanstyle kayaking. Her favourite color: black”

I already hated that “recreational touring” expression when it was printed…now I’ll go on a VERY BIG “recreational tour”… :-) ))
