Hilleberg Tents 

Thanks to the Hilleberg family for providing me the Allak 2008 model two-person tent for my New Zealand record solo circumnavigation!

For my 2009 Race around Australia circumnavigation I got as well a Soulo freestanding one-person tent provided. I will chose between those two, depending on the part of the country.

I might still need the two entrances of the Allak in croc country, to be able to sneak out of the backdoor, once a croc visits through the front door… )

The Allak is a free-standing roomy tent with plenty of ventilation options — ideal on an expedition around an island that featured high winds and thousands of hideous sand flies. It’s easy to put up and take down and the silicone surface makes it easy to compress for packing. In warm, dry weather, I put the inner tent up without the fly. I was fully content with the options this tent gave me!
