Ute Martensen, senior of the family-owned, well-sorted and organized outdoor store Blackfoot in Köln, was introducing me to the audience…

…before she was passing over to Bernhard Hillejan, my old sea kayaking friend, former Salzwasserunion president and mentor of my first international paddle strokes.

Even if Horst Gadermann looks seemingly quite uninterested on this pic (sorry I don’t have a better one of the two of us…) – he was the one organizing the ticket-pre-sales for the shows in Husum, Kiel and Hamburg through his shop Gadermann Kajak Import. Thanks very much, Horst!

The show in Kiel, my birth town, was kindly introduced by Eckehard Schirmer, an experienced sea kayaker himself and the Referent Küstenfahrt sowie Ressortleiter Freizeitsport in the Landeskanuverband Schleswig-Holstein.

Eckehard was one of my first mentors when I started the “serious” sea kayaking about 7 years ago. Thanks, Eckehard!

He seemed to enjoy to check my wireless microphone on my backside…he himself didn’t need a microphone as a teacher!

Jörg Knorr, an experienced expedition paddler himself, was so nice to introduce my talk to the audience.

The venue for the first German talk in Husum in the Hotel “Altes Gymnasium” was very stylish, almost like an ancient church - good Jörg was walking behind and not besides me through the narrow gap in the middle of the audience chairs, from the back to the front to start the talk, and no wedding choral was being played…
