…before she was passing over to Bernhard Hillejan, my old sea kayaking friend, former Salzwasserunion president and mentor of my first international paddle strokes.

Thanks to Ute hosting me, and to Bernhard initiating the contact! Bernhard came with his lovely wife Aja and grown-up son Lars. Thanks for joining my talk!

But I wouldn’t have been there talking, if there wouldn’t have been my most active fan – Jörg Hofferbert, who initiated the contact! Thanks, Jörg!

Jörg initiated as well the visit of the German TV ZDF sport moderator Susanne Simon, who co-moderated the evening and the questions after the talk. Thanks, Susanne!

Even if Horst Gadermann looks seemingly quite uninterested on this pic (sorry I don’t have a better one of the two of us…) – he was the one organizing the ticket-pre-sales for the shows in Husum, Kiel and Hamburg through his shop Gadermann Kajak Import. Thanks very much, Horst!

Thanks to Dirk, Bootshauswart in the RDE, checking the entrance!

Slideshow in Kiel, Germany

P4220002 w

The show in Kiel, my birth town, was kindly introduced by Eckehard Schirmer, an experienced sea kayaker himself and the Referent Küstenfahrt sowie Ressortleiter Freizeitsport in the Landeskanuverband Schleswig-Holstein.

Eckehard was one of my first mentors when I started the “serious” sea kayaking about 7 years ago. Thanks, Eckehard!

He seemed to enjoy to check my wireless microphone on my backside…he himself didn’t need a microphone as a teacher!

Slideshow in my Hometown Husum, Germany

Jörg Knorr, an experienced expedition paddler himself, was so nice to introduce my talk to the audience.

Thanks very much, Jörg!

The venue for the first German talk in Husum in the Hotel “Altes Gymnasium” was very stylish, almost like an ancient church :-) - good Jörg was walking behind and not besides me through the narrow gap in the middle of the audience chairs, from the back to the front to start the talk, and no wedding choral was being played… :-)
